South Tahoe Greenway Shared-Use Trail

The Conservancy is proposing to construct a 9.6-mile long shared-use trail that will provide south shore residents and visitors with a non-motorized, alternative transportation corridor from Meyers, California to Stateline, Nevada. The Conservancy, TRPA, and USDA Forest Service, Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (USFS) will serve as joint lead agencies for the preparation of an EIR/EIS/EIS to study the potential effects of the proposed trail and alternatives.

This Revised Notice of Preparation (NOP) expands upon the information provided in the previous NOP circulated by the Conservancy for this project in November 2006. Additional information includes a new alternative trail alignment (see Alternative 3 on the attached map) developed in response to comments received during the November 2006 scoping period. Comments submitted to the Conservancy during the circulation of the November 2006 NOP will still be considered during the preparation of the EIR/EIS. New comments submitted in writing by April 30, 2008 to the address below will also be considered during this process. There is no need to submit duplicate comments to the other lead agencies.
